About us
Founded to fix what was wrong with Indian furniture
Samyog Living was founded by Yogesh Rajpurohit in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on a mix of design training, interior knowledge, retail experience and brand strategy — and on one observation: most furniture sold in India is bought and resold, not made.
We saw a gap for solid wood furniture that goes beyond the ordinary — light, natural, thoughtfully designed, built to last, and finished by hand rather than sprayed to hide the grain.
In an era of fast production, we stand for slow living. We work with skilled master craftsmen, use eco-friendly practices, and let the material stay visible in the finished piece.
- Owned manufacturing — no work passed to a workshop you never see
- Authentic materials, honest joinery, hand-finished surfaces
- Designs rooted in heritage, sized for how people live and trade today

solid hardwood frames — never particle board
Four things that do not change from project to project
Solid hardwood, always
Six species — acacia, mango, sheesham, teak, ash and oak — kiln-seasoned to the right moisture level before a single cut is made. Where engineered board is the better choice for a panel, we say so rather than hiding it.
Slow living, made properly
We would rather build a piece once and have it last decades than turn it out fast. Eco-friendly practice and low-waste cutting are part of that, not a marketing line.
Master craftsmen
Jodhpur has made furniture for generations. Our carpenters, polishers and upholsterers are on our payroll, in our building, working to one control sample.
Made to your specification
Sizes, timber species, finish codes and upholstery are set by your drawing or your room plan — not by a stock cut list we happen to be running.
Small team, six decades of furniture between them
The same three people run a ten-piece order and a five-hundred-key project. You will not be handed between departments.
Yogesh Rajpurohit
First point of contact on new projects. Handles briefs, quotations and trade enquiries from architects and hospitality groups.
Khushal Sankhla
Owns the inspection stage and everything after it — moisture checks, packing specification, consolidation and delivery scheduling.
Rajesh Prajapat
Runs the floor: cutting, joinery, upholstery and polish, and keeps every batch matched to the approved control sample.

Timber arrives, is graded and seasoned, and leaves as finished furniture — all under one roof. Because the whole sequence is ours, we can hold a finish, repeat a batch a year later, and tell you honestly what a date will cost.
- Seasoning and moisture testing before cutting
- In-house carpentry, CNC and joinery lines
- Upholstery and polishing under the same roof
- Piece-by-piece inspection before wrapping
- Consolidated dispatch and on-site installation

Two workshops under one roof: timber and upholstery
Most orders draw on both. A restaurant fit-out is rarely only tables, and a guest room is rarely only case goods — so we kept both trades in the building.
Solid wood
Cut, joined and hand-finished from seasoned hardwood.
- Beds and upholstered headboards
- Wardrobes, dressers and case goods
- Dining tables and dining chairs
- Coffee tables, side tables and consoles
- TV units and sideboards
- Desks, luggage racks and bar units
Leather and fabric
Frames built in the same workshop, then upholstered in-house.
- Leather sofas and Chesterfield designs
- Fabric sofas, banquettes and booth seating
- Stools, poufs and ottomans
- Lounge and accent chairs
- Upholstered beds and headboards
- Contract-grade seating for high-traffic use
What we build with, and why it matters later
We work in six hardwoods. Which one your project needs comes down to how hard the piece will be used, where it will live, and what the budget has to carry — so here is the honest comparison, side by side.
Teak
Natural oil in the grain makes teak exceptionally stable and resistant to moisture and insects. The timber to specify when humidity is the real enemy.
- Best for — coastal and poolside, outdoor, statement dining
- Density — medium-hard, exceptionally stable
- Tone — golden brown, ages to a deep honey
- Cost — top of the range
Sheesham
Dense and hard-wearing — what we reach for when a piece takes daily punishment. Holds a deep finish and keeps its grain character under polish.
- Best for — dining tables, restaurant tops, beds
- Density — heavy, high hardness, resists denting
- Tone — deep brown with dark streaking
- Cost — premium, worth it where use is hard
Acacia
One of the hardest timbers we cut, with a wavy grain and strong colour variation board to board. Character is the point — expect every top to differ.
- Best for — café tops, benches, chunky live-edge pieces
- Density — very hard, scratch-resistant
- Tone — warm amber with wide colour variation
- Cost — mid-range, hard-wearing for the price
Mango
Open-grained, pale and sustainable — harvested from orchard trees past fruiting. A genuine hardwood, not a budget substitute, but not a sheesham replacement either.
- Best for — case goods, side tables, consoles, pieces that move
- Density — medium, lighter to lift and to ship
- Tone — pale honey with visible open grain
- Cost — the value option on large quantities
Oak
Imported, stable and strongly figured, with the straight grain buyers recognise instantly. Takes stain more predictably than any other timber we run.
- Best for — contemporary case goods, dining, fitted joinery
- Density — hard and dimensionally stable
- Tone — pale to mid brown, prominent straight grain
- Cost — premium import, priced by grade
Ash
Pale, springy and exceptionally shock-resistant — it bends without breaking, which is why slender chair legs and bentwood frames are cut from it.
- Best for — chair frames, bentwood, slender legs, bar stools
- Density — medium-hard, very high shock resistance
- Tone — near-blond, fine and even grain
- Cost — premium-range, excellent value in seating
Not sure which one your project needs? Tell us the piece and where it will live — we specify the timber for you, in writing, on the quote.
After the timber is cut
Four stages decide whether a piece still looks right in year five. All four happen in our building.
Seasoning and moisture control
Most furniture failures in India are moisture failures. We season and moisture-test before cutting, then test again before wrapping — so nothing warps or opens at the joints once it sits under air conditioning.
Leather, fabric and foam
Frames are built on our own carpentry line, then upholstered in the same building. Commercial seating gets contract-grade foam density and rub-count-rated fabric — domestic upholstery in a restaurant is a twelve-month decision, not a ten-year one.
Finishes and hardware
Hand-applied finishes with the colour recipe recorded against your project, so a repeat order a year later matches the first. Runners, hinges and levelling feet are specified to commercial ratings on contract work, not domestic ones.
Packing, delivery and installation
Each piece is inspected and wrapped individually, then dispatch is consolidated so a floor or room set lands complete rather than in fragments. Our own team assembles on site, and exports go in containers with loading spec agreed in advance.
Tell us what you are furnishing
Send a floor plan, a room or cover count, or simply the piece you have in mind. You will get a specified quote back — line by line, with timber, finish and lead time written down.
